I am a beggar
Pune, India, 2019
I am a beggar, a wanderer without a roof or rest. I stretch out my hand, hoping for a little pity. But no one wants to see me, everyone turns away. I am invisible, a ghost among the living. I walk the streets alone and abandoned, without shelter to protect me from the rain and cold. Hunger and thirst gnaw at me without respite, reminding me every day of my misery. Yet, I keep hoping that someone will remember me, that someone will have pity on me. But for now, I am a beggar, a wanderer without a roof or rest, invisible to others.
